Head of State appeals Burundians to strengthen peace and social cohesion

The President of the Republic, His Excellency General Major Evariste Ndayishimiye, along with his wife and children, joined Christians of Mutumba Parish, in Bujumbura Province, Bujumbura Archdiocese, in a mass held this Sunday, October 18, 2020.

The Head of State thanked the Pope for the message read in all the Catholic parishes of the world because God has shown himself  to the Burundians by protecting them from the coronavirus pandemic.  He invited the Burundians to continue praying the  Almighty God, while scrupulously respecting the measures taken to prevent this pandemic.

The President of the Republic also expressed gratitude to the Christians of Mutumba Parish for having supported him during the hard times that Burundi has undergone, during the struggle for the restoration of democracy beheaded by the 1993 putschists.

Finally, he invited the Christians of Mutumba parish to support him with prayers so that he can better lead the country under the guidance of Divine wisdom.

The Head of State contributed with 100 bags of cement in the building works which are being carried out at that parish.
