President Evariste Ndayishimiye visits breeding projects and a college for young girls in Riaba District, Equatorial Guinea

This Wednesday, November 4, Burundi President, the First Lady and the five members of the Government who are part of the high level delegation in Equatorial Guinea for the State visit which is being carried out by HE Evariste Ndayishimiye, visited some areas to realize significant investments in the agro-food sector, a sector with high development potential, in the province of Bioko-Sur, District of Riaba.

In the industrial and tourist farm located in Riaba, the President visited the DOS CABRAS Industry, the breeding of dairy goats which are very beneficial because, as announced during the guided tour, these goats are breeds improved for production of milk and they reproduce very quickly. Their milk with its highly nutritious elements is used in the manufacture of other products such as cheese and yogurt, while its manure is collected for use.

President Ndayishimiye then visited SENIOR CARDO Industry, a booming pork industry in Equatorial Guinea. The Burundian delegation was able to see the technical performance in this category of breeding and the specialization of farms, the modernization of the living conditions of animals. This experience, disclosed President Ndayishimiye, is an inspiring model because, in Burundi, he plans to considerably increase the pig production.

The Burundian delegation also went, still in the district of Riaba and in the property of Marcos Obiang Nguema Nsue better known as LA GRAJA, to the edges of fish ponds, one of the priorities of President Evariste Ndayishimiye. Indeed, this nourishing activity which produces animal proteins is developing in several provinces of Burundi which are far from the lakes. “Beyond the food supplement, fish farming is also a source of additional financial income,” explained President Ndayishimiye, who spares no effort to ensure that every mouth has food and every pocket has money.

The Presidential Couple’s visit to Riaba ended with a visit to the College for Guinean Girls, a boarding school, a project that particularly caught the attention of Her Excellency First Lady Angéline Ndayishimiye, whose Bonne Action Foundation, Umugiraneza which deals with the education of the young girl to prepare her to be a worthy woman in her family and her community.
