President Ndayishimiye in Djibloho, the future Capital of Equatorial Guinea

The President of the Republic of Burundi HE Evariste Ndayishimiye on a State Visit to Equatorial Guinea spent his fourth day in Djibloho, a newly built town as it was erected in 2015 in the middle of the equatorial forest over an area of ​​30,000 hectares, with an estimated population of less than 100,000 inhabitants.

This city which attracts tourists and investors equally interested the President of the Republic of Burundi who was kind enough to explore, among others, the industrial and technological zone and the university campus of Djibloho which are already the pride of the whole Equatorial Guinea, a city which has also become the center for making important political decisions by the Government, which organizes meetings there very often.

While staying in Djibloho near the Wele River, the Head of State and the First Lady as well as all the members of the delegation, also learn that agriculture is very favorable there on fertile land and irrigation projects initiated by the Equatorial Guinea Government. A green city with a paradisiacal landscape, Djibloho therefor visied by the Burundian delegation guided by the desire to exchange experience and know-how.

Arrived by road from Bata, more than 200 km on a four-track motorway, the Head of State and all those accompanying him were received and installed, in the greatest expression of the legendary hospitality of the Equato -Guineans, at the prestigious Grand Hotel Djibloho, 5 stars.

Then, Burundi Head of State went to visit the Afro-American University of Central Africa, an elite university complex located in Oyala, with a capacity of receiving 1,300 students from several countries and currently distributed in 9 faculties but with the ambition to go up to 10,000 and about fifteen faculties because the construction and extension work continues.

The Inter-State Customs School (EIED) was the second step of the Head of State Evariste Ndayishimiye, a school which aims to train customs officers of CEMAC, the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa. Created in 1972 during the 8th session of the Council of Heads of State of the Customs and Economic Union of Central Africa (UDEAC, now CEMAC), the headquarters of the EIED which was initially fixed in Bangui, capital of the Central African Republic was temporarily relocated to BATA in Equatorial Guinea precisely in the province of Djibloho by Decision taken on July 02, 2018. In the same sector of academic education, the Head of State of Burundi visited the Higher Technical Institute of Telecommunications and Information Technologies of Oyala where he visited the amphitheatres and other rooms equipped with equipment of high technology teaching materials to facilitate learning and simulation exercises, such as the energy rooms, the operations and maintenance center and the advanced computer hall.

The Head of State also visited other places and public infrastructure such as the Government Palace and a gigantic bridge of inspiring modernity. The evening was closed, at the Grand Hotel, with a dinner offered by the Mayor of the City of Djibloho in honor of the President of the Republic of Burundi visiting the city, an exchange of gifts and a cake sharing in the colors of the flags of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea and the Republic of Burundi.
