The First Lady joins the children jailed with their mothers in Mpimba prison to celebrate Christmas

This Wednesday, December 23, 2020, the First Lady of Burundi and President of the Good Action Foundation “Umugiraneza”, Her Excellency Angeline Ndayishimiye, paid a visit to the central prison of Mpimba, in Bujumbura Mayorship. She had gone to wish a Merry Christmas to the children incarcerated with their mothers in this prison.

In her remarks, Her Excellency Angeline Ndayishimiye, advised the imprisoned women, once released, to avoid committing again the same crimes , because the children suffer a lot from the situation.

She also stressed that the visit was also made to inquire about the living conditions of these children, and see whether these children in prison, show signs of malnutrition. In this regard, she was pleased to note that they are in good health.

The First Lady finally wished a merry Christmas and a Happy New Year of 2021 to all the women imprisoned in this prison.

The First Lady had brought an aid consisting of rice, beans, powdered and liquid milk, flour for the preparation of porridge, cookies and juices, as well as clothes for the children living in this jail.
